We are still waiting for Emma to decide she is ready to make her appearance. I think we are all getting a bit impatient. Most of the time I don't believe that I am actually going to have a baby at some point in the near future. No, pregnancy is now my permanent lot in life. Which really would be far from the worst lot, but the anticipation and false alarms/hopes are wearing at times.
I've walked miles, ran up and down stairs, ate eggplant parmesan and pineapple, drank lots of red raspberry leaf tea, and even tried strange teas like cumin (gah!) and cinnamon (tasted fine, but gave me heartburn all day). I've played soccer with the children and bounced on my exercise ball and done squats. The result has been good "progress" and lots of contractions, but nothing "real"....yet. At least I'll be in shape when she finally comes!
My mom and four youngest siblings arrived late Friday night, and they have been doing a wonderful job distracting me. I am glad to have my mom here for the birth!
Emma's sweater is finished. I really enjoyed knitting this pattern and the result is precious. Now all I need is a cute baby to put in it!!

snow and ice and everything nice
So I really enjoyed being iced into our cozy house last week. We didn't lost power and I didn't go into labor, both of which made the time much more enjoyable. I took some videos of Brett "sledding" with the children on a piece of plastic roofing, but somehow they aren't in my phone now. Sad=( I thought Evelyn might be a little unsure, but no she laughed the whole way down!! She is not often scared.
Knitting on Emma's little sweater is coming along. I've made a couple mistakes and feel that if I knit this pattern again, I could do it much better next time. It is an adorable little cardigan, so I may indeed knit it again. I can think of a couple coming babies who could use a little sweater!! The pattern is Baby Vertebrae, which is free on ravelry, and yarn is Madeline Tosh sock yarn, colorway Opaline. The lighting in that picture is terrible and the color is actually much darker pink/purple. I'll try to get some accurate pictures when it's all finished.
We also finished painting Evelyn's room...grey of course...and hung some little bookshelves in Nate's room. I did some cleaning and freezer cooking too! Almost all of the projects on my "to do be Emma come list" are completed!! You are welcome to come any time little girl!

snow day
The first day and night of the snow last week we stayed at Papa and Grandma Hawkins because Brett was working in Florida. Then we played in the snow some more the next day back at our house. This was the first time for both of the children to see snow and be old enough to remember it! They had a blast, especially making snow angels. I have so many fond memories of snow growing up; I think I have passed on some of my enthusiasm.
